CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE contains Celecoxib which belongs to group of medicines called Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE is used in adults to manage osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), rheumatoid arthritis (inflammatory disease of joints), ankylosing spondylitis (chronic back pain), acute pain and primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps).
CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE is also used to manage juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (in children aged 2 years and above).
CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Celecoxib, sulfonamides, aspirin and/or other NSAIDs. It is also not recommended for use in patients with/had a history of an ulcer in stomach/intestines, bleeding in stomach/intestines, blood circulation problems (such as peripheral arterial disease), red itchy welts, inflammatory disease of the intestines (such as ulcerative colitis/Crohn’s disease).
The medicine is also not indicted for use in patients suffering from lung problems (such as asthma), heart diseases (such as heart failure, recent heart attack, heart block), severe liver disease (such as advanced hepatic insufficiency) and/or kidney disease (such as advanced renal insufficiency).
Before taking CELEBREX 200MG CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, raised blood pressure, increased cholesterol, signs of fluid retention (such as swollen ankles and feet) and/or hyperkalemia (increased potassium level in blood).

US pharmacy giant Walgreens, which is trying to block a proposed deal with Merck & Co. over its Celebrex, could face a legal challenge if it is sued over the drug.
The company was to be the first to admit the patent was invalid, which was filed with the US Food and Drug Administration in May, as part of a drug-safety study that tested a version of Celebrex in a laboratory.
The drug's maker, which was based in the US, will now face a legal challenge, after it won a court order on Tuesday.
A US court has granted a $3 billion verdict for Merck, which filed the patent in June, in the first of two US lawsuits that claim the company illegally patented its drug.
A Merck spokeswoman said the firm is working on a "comprehensive" defence and that the company will have a "comprehensive" defence to its case.
The company, which has already faced similar suits over its rival, AstraZeneca, also has asked a US judge to rule on the litigation.
The firm, which said it had a "comprehensive" defence in the case, said the case was "bio-based" and was not in "confidentiality".
It said it would have to appeal the ruling on May 22, after the US court ruled that the patent had not been invalid.
The US company, which makes a copy of the patent, said the company would be entitled to a share of the $3 billion settlement.
It was unclear if the company would be granted a licence to sell Celebrex, or if the drug is not covered by the US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) drug safety plan. It is expected to appeal the decision to the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
It is possible that the company could also face generic competition from Pfizer, which has a similar regulatory strategy.
However, Pfizer has denied any claim that it has taken any steps to market the drug.
The US company said it had no intention of using the patent for the drug and that it would not "want to risk losing" its patent if it chose to launch a competing drug.
A spokesman for Pfizer said the company was in a "different position than the others".
The spokesman said the company had been "comprehensive" in its response to the US court order. He said it had "comprehensive" evidence that the US company had not taken any steps to protect its intellectual property.
He said he would be able to decide whether the company should be given a licence to sell the drug.
The company said the decision had been made only after the US court ordered the drug to be reviewed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and that the company had not given any reasons for it to do so.
